Internships With Humbly I Serve Available for Upcoming Semesters

“Interning with Humbly I Serve has been such a growing experience and professionally fulfilling for me!” – Jason (Spring ’15)

“This has been a semester full of growth and learning, especially about nonprofit organizations.” – Brittany (Spring ’15)

To land a job, you need experience. To attain experience, you need a job. To look presentable for an interview, you need money. To have money, you need a job. The cycle is vicious! Internships are unique in that they offer beneficial experience for college students who are looking for opportunities to learn outside the classroom without requiring job experience. Humbly I Serve Ministries is looking for people passionate about learning in their particular field of study and gaining “real-life” experience. We want to partner with students excited to work, learn, grow, and become valuable assets to future employers. We do not hire students simply for coffee runs or paper copies. Rather, we work directly with students every day to aid in their learning process, in order that they be prepared for whatever lies ahead after graduation.

Humbly I Serve offers various internship opportunities each fall, spring and summer semester, such as Administration, Graphic Design, Public Relations and Communications, Marketing, Health Promotions, Social Networking, Finance, and others.

Many students who have interned at Humbly I Serve came out with a deeper understanding of how nonprofit organizations operate as well as what it means to apply their specific set of knowledge and skills to an organization or company. For more information about internships, job descriptions, or to set up an interview please visit our website or email us at info@humblyiserve.org.

Testimonies of Past Interns:

“Interning at Humbly I Serve over the past few months has been a gold mine of experience … At the end of the day, what I’ve realized is that (we can) stop and pray together, laugh and spend time working with our different personalities and talents (while) bringing eyesight to the people around us.” – Elias (Fall ’14)

“This has been the best internship I could have possibly imagined. Not only did I learn a lot about myself, I learned a lot of skills that I can use in my future career … I loved that we got together twice a day to pray. This helped me in my spiritual walk with God, but it was also a great time to get together with other interns and connect with them and see how God was using them.” – Jasmine (Summer ’14)

“I spent the whole summer working as (Humbly I Serve’s) Content Manager, working on newsletters, sending out emails, crafting press releases, among other tasks. And this was like other jobs that I have done, but what made it a real special place for me was being surrounded by good people whom I enjoyed their company, but also ones who really had a heart for the Lord.” – Daniel (Summer ’13)

Educational Program in Haiti

Educational Program

Haiti, a country of about 10 million people, suffers from inadequate treatment for vision conditions and diseases, most of which are easily curable, a luxury that we as Americans do not have much concern with. But poor eye health contributes greatly to poverty, while leaving many others unable to receive proper education, or uphold a job, which turns back towards poverty. It is a vicious cycle that many cannot escape without the help and commitment of others willing to step in to aid in this terminal situation.

We are in need of Opticians who are eager to help in the writing of our Opticianry program for our Haitian clinic. These will be used to help educate Haitian students, which not only helps establish the work that is being done there, but allows these students employment opportunities, which ultimately leads to change. Create hope, be the change, join the movement.

Let’s Get Innovative!

Let's Get Innovative!

We are so excited to announce our 2nd annual Innovative Conference this April 10, 2014 from 7:00pm – 8:30pm! This will be located at Liberty University’s Snowflex.

The Innovative Conference is a time that allows you to discuss what is going on within our organization and how you can get involved in changing the world!

We believe every life has significance to God, and that not everyone is as fortunate as we may be. The simple gift of your time could be the sole catalyst in a person’s life that moves them on to doing great things, creating a contagious fever of change.

That is why we host the Innovative Conference each year, to get the word out that God is alive and moving and at work. This conference allows you to get involved by sharing ideas, hosting events, going on trips and being a part of what we are doing, regardless of financial commitment.

Come out to hear about ways in which you can serve the community and the world. We have several opportunities to serve locally through internships, CSER credit for students, volunteer staff positions, events, and craft or eyewear drives. We also have a number of upcoming mission trips and long-term mission positions in St. Thomas and Haiti.

This will be an inspiring evening, fueled by caffeine, chocolate and good ideas! Come learn about several ways you can get involved at H.I.S Ministry (Humbly I Serve) and The His Vision Project, with donations from the White Hart and CAO Chocolates.

As we all work together to create an eternal change through Christ, we would love to get you involved as well!
