Melinda Wilson’s passion to help children and spread the Gospel inspired her to found Humbly I Serve. As a licensed optician, Melinda used her experience in eye care to start the His Vision project. She is the co-owner of the Virginia Eye Clinic and lives in Forest, VA with her husband and 3 children.


 HALEY BARKER – Senior Director


Haley Barker can rarely be found without a cup of coffee in hand. After graduating from Liberty University, She joined the Humbly I Serve team in 2012. Although she is a Michigan girl at heart, Haley is happy to be placed in Lynchburg and feels extremely privileged to play her role on the Humbly I Serve team as Senior Director.


LINDSEY HARRE – Director of Programs


After hearing about Humbly I Serve from her mother, Erin Harre, Lindsey participated as a counselor at Seaside Adventure Camp in the summer of 2014. Her love for people and serving others gave her the opportunity to begin serving as the Director of Programs for Humbly I Serve in January 2015. In her free time, Lindsey enjoys leading a high school small group, reading, watching movies, spending time with family, and cheering on the Atlanta Falcons!


 ERIN HARRE – Financial Director


Erin is a wife, mother, grandmother and accountant here in Lynchburg.  Her trip to Haiti last year inspired her to get started on a health journey so she could be more fit to serve the Lord home and abroad.  She owns her own small business accounting company, Grinnin’ Booth, the photo-booth company, and volunteers with Humbly I Serve.


HEATHER BOWMAN – Optical Program Manager


Heather is a Licensed Optician and has been volunteering with Humbly I Serve for over 5 years. Using all she has learned from the Optical industry, Heather is excited to volunteer with Humbly I Serve as the Optical Program Manager.  She resides in Bedford country with her husband, Steve, and two boys, Andrew and Colt.

When not working/volunteering, Stephen enjoys beating his wife at board games, playing with his dog Millie, and not being good at sports. He first heard about Humbly I Serve when the business that he co-manages printed some promotional materials for the organization.


SARA GOLDEN – Director of SSP Community Outreach


Sara Golden began volunteering at Humbly I Serve in January of 2014 and was involved in connecting with donors to have supplies and other materials donated for the opening of the clinic in Haiti. She has since been an intern and continued volunteering as the Director of SSP Community Outreach. Sara will be graduating from Liberty University in May 2015 with a degree in Business Administration. In her free time, she enjoys watching and playing sports as well as reading a good book or watching movies.



TODD BELLOW – Todd Bellow serves as the Vice President of Humbly I Serve ministries. He resides in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands with his wife, Ayishih, and 4 children. He has worked as an Assistant Youth Leader for 10 years with Grace Baptist Church.

CATHY ANDERSON, O.D. – Dr. Anderson currently serves as the treasurer for Humbly I Serve ministries. She is also an optometrist for the Virginia Eye Clinic where she has been employed for more than 14 years. She currently resides in Forest, VA with her two daughters and wonderful husband.

RACHEL TRAVIS – Rachel Marie Travis serves as a director on the board of Humbly I Serve ministries. She is a graduate of Liberty University. She currently resides in Lynchburg with her husband, Mark, and works with children at Presbyterian Homes and Family Services with their Therapeutic Foster Care. Rachel was Mrs. Virginia America 2011, which allowed her to start a public speaking career traveling all over the state to encourages women and young girls about true beauty coming from within. She loves to sing, read, travel and help those in need!

AL STEWART – Pastor Al Stewart serves as a director on the board of Humbly I Serve ministries. He is a native of Waterbury, CT. After serving in the Armed Forces in West Germany from 1977-1980, he came into a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ in 1980. He holds a degree in Apologetics from Schofield Grad. Sminary and founded two churches. Pastor Steward was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity through Adonai International Fellowship Alliance (A.I.F.A.) where he is V.P. of Ministerial Relations as well as a member of the Board of Directors and past Northeast & current Mid-Atlantic States Senior Minister’s Representative.

DR. LANDON COLLING, MD – Dr. Colling serves as an advisory board member for Humbly I Serve ministries. He received his medical degree from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine and completed his residency in ophthalmology at Ohio State University. Dr. Colling has also conducted extensive research on Keratoconus, the deterioration of the cornea, and has led several medical and ophthalmic service projecs in Central and South America. He is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society, America Acamdey of Ophthalmology and American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. Dr. Colling joined Harman Eye Center in Augusta 2010.
